The Role
Reports To: Spa & Wellness Director
FLSA Status: Full-Time / Part-Time, Non-Exempt
The Spa Host serves as the welcoming face of the Body + Mind Spa at Shepherd’s Run. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure, ensuring every guest feels relaxed, cared for, and connected to the Shepherd’s Run brand of hospitality.
The Spa Host supports the day-to-day operations of the spa, including guest check-ins, scheduling, retail assistance, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of spa spaces. This position blends service, organization, and a genuine passion for wellness to create a seamless and restorative environment for every guest.
Responsibilities
Guest Experience
• Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, provide tour of spa amenities, and guide them through their appointment journey.
• Ensure guests are comfortable, informed, and at ease before, during, and after their services.
• Anticipate guest needs with attention to detail, offering refreshments, amenities, and product recommendations.
• Handle guest inquiries and requests promptly, ensuring a gracious and professional response.
• Support the Spa Director in upholding the Shepherd’s Run service standard of calm, personalized hospitality.
Scheduling & Operations
• Manage appointment bookings through spa software systems; assist guests with scheduling and rebooking services.
• Maintain accurate records of daily appointments, therapist availability, and treatment room assignments.
• Coordinate communication between therapists, estheticians, and management to ensure smooth service flow.
• Handle spa check-ins and checkouts, including payment processing and gift card transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of guest areas, treatment rooms, and spa retail displays.
• Execute all opening and closing procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with company standards.
• Comfortable performing light pool maintenance around the pool in varying weather conditions.
Retail & Product Support
• Assist guests in selecting spa retail products and process transactions accurately.
• Maintain product inventory levels and support merchandising displays.
• Communicate low stock or product needs to the Spa Director.
• Participate in spa retail promotions and seasonal offerings.
Team Support
• Collaborate with the Spa Director and therapists to ensure service readiness and daily flow.
• Assist in laundry, restocking, and light cleaning duties to maintain spa standards.
• Communicate guest feedback and suggestions to management.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing hospitality training.
Qualifications
• Previous spa, wellness, front desk, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to maintain a calm and polished demeanor in a serene setting.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy spa environment.
• Proficiency with booking systems or POS software preferred (training provided).
• Passion for wellness, self-care, and creating restorative experiences for others.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
• Hourly wage of $17/hr. plus pooled tips shared by all property staff.
• Full-time or Part-time schedule.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; bend, reach, and lift/carry up to 25 lbs as needed.
• Comfort working in a calm but fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Use of standard office and spa tools in accordance with safety procedures.
Schedule & Availability
• Variable schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays aligned to business needs and events.
• Reliable attendance and readiness for scheduled shifts are essential.
Certifications & Compliance
• Must comply with all state and federal safety regulations and property standards.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.
Appearance & Conduct
• Adherence to Shepherd’s Run appearance and uniform standards.
• Professional, polished, and guest-focused demeanor that reflects the spa’s tranquil environment.
Technology & Systems
• Familiarity with booking, POS, and scheduling systems preferred.
• Ability to follow checklists and digital systems for appointments and inventory.
