2020 North Fork Petnat
2020 North Fork Petnat
Wine Summary
This Petnat Riesling provides bright acidity and lemon-lime notes balanced with straw and crusty bread. This slightly sparkling wine is made in the Pétillant naturel method, also known as méthode ancestrale, the oldest method for making sparkling wine. While the bubbles won't last as long as a traditional sparkling wine, as it has not seen the same time in the bottle, it is a wonderfully light and refreshing way to start or end any great wine experience. As the wine sits in your glass take note of its evolution as stronger yeasty notes give way to the Riesling aromatics and florals. Since this wine finishes fermentation in the bottle and does not undergo disgorging, fine lees remain. The wine will have a slightly cloudy effect as these lees mix when poured. This is perfectly normal and in our opinion desirable with a Petnat. We hope you enjoy this unique wine as much as we do!
